Waste4Meal Impact Cluster (WICLUP) is a transformative initiative led by ASEF, FIDAS AFRICA, LarvaProt and Gonastocks Limited, dedicated to empowering 100,000 Africans through comprehensive training and support.
Commencing with a grand training launch of 25,000 participants during SEDIT Africa and an extended goal of training 50,000 persons across Africa.
Participants are organized into clusters, strategically aligned with each state in focus across multiple African countries.
All trained participants will be registered into the versatile Food Soldiers Network, which positions them to be able to raise capital for their business. The vision of Gonastocks to also to raise the membership of the Food Soldiers Network to 1,000,000 members within 6 months of launch.
Waste4Meal will work with the trained participants to attract capital for them into their project. The finances shall be a low interest loans, rates between 5% and 9% and repayment over a period of 12 to 18 months.
All trained participants will enjoy technical support that ensures that they are successful in their projects.
All the trained participants will become members of the Institute for Larval Protein and this will grant them automatic access to software applications that for the management of their project.
The cluster will be operated by the trained participants, who are the owners of their respective farms.
The proceeds of the project belong to the participants, and it is from this they will pay for the supporting services and loans. The project will also place obligations on the participants to donate to charity, research and development. All proceeds will go through the participating bank.
Additional investments are attracted into the clusters, providing essential resources such as Zoom Racks, Processing, and Packaging units. Rent and service charges are applied
The project anticipates creating 250,000 jobs across Africa, with 50,000 direct employments and 200,000 indirect employments. The annual utilization of 1.5 million tons of waste results in the generation of 21,000 tons of Larval meal (Animal Protein), 88,000 tons of fertilizer, and 40,000 tons of oil.
Beyond economic gains, WICLUP significantly contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing greenhouse gases, including CO2, NO2, Methane Gas, and H2S gas.
WICLUP is not just a waste management project; it's a catalyst for economic growth, attracting $300 million in investments and building a $2 Billion economy across Africa.
The project envisions engagement in multiple countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Liberia, Kenya, South Africa, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, Senegal, Angola, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.
